Dachau, Germany

Dachau

This places are kept for remembrance, a place to reflect.  NEVER FORGET and NEVER LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN.
It is in Germany's constitution now. The dignity of every person, regardless of religion or race or sex is protected.

HOLOCAUST ENCYCLOPEDIA
This is were people slept, no mattresses,  may be some straw. No heat in the bitter cold winters. Infectious diseases were running rampant. If you did not die of starvation or some disease first then the next step was the gas chamber.

This is the gas chamber, the people were told this was the chamber to clean them and get rid of lice, and it was supposed to be just a shower.

The tour guide told us about many unsuccessful attempts of escape. People recognized after a while this was not a work camp, and started realizing people were disappearing.

The crematorium, where they burned the bodies.

NEVER FORGET and NEVER LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN.

La Paz, Bolivia

La Paz, Bolivia, at 4,000 meters above sea level, is the highest capital in the world.

The summers are comfortable hot, and the winters very mild.

Bolivia is a poor country financially, but rich in culture and people. Bolivia was invaded by the Spaniard back in the days, that's how the Spanish language became the main language. Their are still the native Indians here as well, The 2 main Indian languages 'Ketchua" and "Aymara". I can speak a tiny bit of Aymara too,.

La Paz, sits like a bowl in the Andes, surrounded by the Mountains, and the Altiplano. Both picture show the famous Mountain "Illimani".The nature is breathtaking

St. Louis, MO

Saint Louis, MO. Where the Missouri and Mississippi River meet.

St. Louis Arch, The Gateway to the West.

Missouri the "Show Me State".

http://explorestlouis.com/

The "Home of the Blues"

Back in the days a major port on the Mississippi River.

St. Louis has a nice downtown, with lots of restaurants and bars, it reminds me of so many big cities in the US. The tourist areas are wonderful, but don't wander too far away. St. Louis has some rough neighbor hoods, in fact it makes the top list of the most dangerous cities :(.

Getting away from the city you will get the feel of the Midwest.
Flat lands, cornfields, no mountains, very calming.
